The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced a change in the examination dates for its 10th and 12th board exams. The exams will now commence on March 6 due to the scheduling of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) on February 27.
The previous schedule had set the start dates for the 12th exams on February 20 and the 10 exams on February 27th. However, the board deemed it impractical to conduct both the large-scale REET, with over 12 lakh candidates, and the board exams simultaneously.
A total of 19,39,645 students are registered for the RBSE 10th and 12th exams this year, including 10,62,341 in class 10th and 866270 in class 12th.
The decision to postpone the board exams was taken during a meeting of the State Level High Authority Examination Committee, chaired by Education Minister Madan Dilawar. The meeting reviewed preparations for both REET and the board exams, emphasizing the importance of smooth and secure conduct.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Government Secretary for School Education and Language, the RBSE Administrator, and Directors of Secondary and Elementary Education.
The detailed timetables for the postponed 10th and 12th board exams will be released by the RBSE soon.
