The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 will be conducted in the pen and paper mode (OMR based) in a single day and single shift. This is a significant change from the previous years, where the exam was conducted in a computer-based mode.
The NEET UG is a common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions across India. It is conducted by the NTA on behalf of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Applicability of NEET UG
As per the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, NEET UG is mandatory for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions, including those offering Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) courses, and B.Sc. Nursing courses offered by the Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS).
