The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the revised examination schedule for the postponed Chartered Accountant (CA) Final and Intermediate exams for September 2025. The rescheduling affects test centers across Punjab and the city of Jammu due to severe weather conditions.
The exams, originally slated for September 3rd and 4th, 2025, were postponed as a precautionary measure in light of continuous rain and flooding in the regions. The institute has now announced the new dates to ensure all affected candidates can take their exams without further disruption.
The key changes to the timetable are as follows:
CA Final (Group I): Paper 1 - Financial Reporting, previously scheduled for September 3rd, will now be conducted on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
CA Intermediate (Group I): Paper 1 - Advanced Accounting, previously scheduled for September 4th, will now be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Both exams will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM as per the original timing.
Important Information for Candidates
ICAI has confirmed that the admit cards already issued for the September 2025 examinations will remain valid for the newly scheduled dates. Candidates are advised to download and carry their existing admit cards to the examination center on the revised days.
The postponement was specific to exam centers in the following locations:
Punjab: Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mandi Gobindgarh, Pathankot, Patiala and Sangrur.
Jammu & Kashmir: Jammu city.
Exams in all other centers across India proceeded as per the original schedule. For clarity, ICAI also reiterated the standard timings for the ongoing examination cycle:
- CA Final Exams: Papers 1 to 5 are three-hour exams from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Paper 6 is a four-hour paper from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
- CA Intermediate Exams: All papers are three-hour exams held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- CA Foundation Exams: Papers 1 & 2 are three-hour exams (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM), while Papers 3 & 4 are two-hour exams (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM).
