DU Admissions 2025: BCom (Hons) tops Delhi University’s preference list yet again, SRCC tops college choices

As Delhi University moves into its fourth year of CUET-based admissions, BCom (Hons) has once again emerged as the most popular undergraduate programme, drawing the highest number of applications across its 69 colleges. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) continues its reign as the top choice for applicants, receiving the maximum number of first-preference selections.

For the academic session 2025–26, the university recorded over 3.05 lakh registrations, marking the highest number of applicants since the introduction of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Among these, 2.39 lakh candidates completed Phase II of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) by submitting their programme and college preferences after the CUET results were announced on June 17.

The preference data reveals strong trends in favour of commerce-based programmes:

In total, students submitted an astounding 1.68 crore programme-college preferences, with each candidate allowed to choose from 1,549 possible combinations. One applicant even listed 1,414 preferences, while the average stood at 83 per candidate.

Trends Since CUET Implementation

The 2025 admission cycle reflects both continuity and evolution. Commerce courses like BCom and BCom (Hons) have consistently led the preference charts since CUET was introduced in 2022. That year, nine of the ten most popular college-programme combinations were commerce-related. The pattern persisted through 2023 and 2024.
