CUET UG 2025 Day 1 Exam Analysis: Difficulty Level, Subject-Wise Feedback from Students, Experts

CUET UG 2025 exams commenced today, marking the beginning of the national-level admission test for undergraduate programmes offered by Central, State, and other participating universities. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is a computer-based test designed to assess candidates’ aptitude across language, domain-specific subjects, and general knowledge areas. The exam aims to streamline the UG admission process by offering a common evaluation platform.

CUET UG 2025 Day 1 Exam Paper Analysis

Here’s a detailed subject-wise analysis from Day 1, First Shift, based on inputs shared by Karan Mehta, Cofounder at Toprankers and students who appeared for the CUET UG examination:

English Language (First Day & First Shift)

• The English section was dominated by vocabulary this year, with a significant number of questions testing synonyms and antonyms.


• Only three passages were included—one factual and two story-based—amounting to approximately 12 questions in total.


• The passage difficulty ranged from easy to moderate.


• Grammar-based questions were fewer than last year, marking a shift in focus towards vocabulary skills.

• Quantitative Aptitude was reported to be slightly tougher than the previous year.


• Logical Reasoning had the highest number of questions, making it the most prominent component of this section.


• Current Affairs questions were relatively limited, while Static GK questions linked to recent events were more frequent.


• Overall, around 12–13 questions were based on GK and Current Affairs.

• A noticeable change was the introduction of new topics in Microeconomics by the NTA.


• Interestingly, more questions were asked from Microeconomics than Macroeconomics this time.


• Two reading passages were included in the Economics section.


• A large portion of the questions were rooted in NCERT concepts and the Annual Government Budget, consistent with previous years.


• The overall difficulty level was easy to moderate, though 3–4 questions were flagged as slightly tricky by students.
