1 in 3 candidates who participated in campus hiring were women: Report

The report titled ‘State of female participation in campus hiring in India’ revealed that the highest proportion of women being recruited by organisations in India was among freshers.

Women's participation in campus hiring exams stands at 34 percent, according to a report by  recruitment automation firm HirePro.

The report titled ‘State of female participation in campus hiring in India’ revealed that the highest proportion of women being recruited by organisations in India was among freshers.

In 2023, 40 percent of the fresh talent hired from college campuses were women, marking a 5 percent increase from the previous year, when the figure stood at 35 percent. The majority of women's participation in campus hiring exams in the fiscal year 2023 was for sectors such as IT, BFSI, and R&D.

The sectorial analysis indicates IT services and GICs top the chart in women's participation in campus hiring, followed by GCC BFSI, Domestic BFSI, and GCC (Tech R&D). The participation rates were as follows: GICs/GCCs (BFSI) - 32 percent, GICs/GCCs (Tech) - 32 percent, GICs/GCC (Telecom/Manufacturing) - 27 percent, IT services - 40 percent, BFSI - 32 percent, Domestic Enterprises  (Retail/Engineering) - 19 percent, and GICs (Others) - 41 percent.
