The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, forecasting rain and thunderstorms in Delhi, Noida, and other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday.
The sky is expected to stay partly cloudy throughout the day. Strong winds blowing at 40–50 km/h and even reaching up to 60 km/h during thunderstorms, are likely in the evening or night. The maximum temperature for the day is expected to be around 35 degrees Celsius, News24 reported.
The IMD also predicts that this rainy spell will continue for the rest of the week. Here's a breakdown of the forecast for the coming days:
June 18: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely. The sky will remain cloudy, and the temperature is expected to reach up to 36 degrees Celsius. A yellow alert for rain has been issued.
June 19: The day is expected to have a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall. The maximum temperature may rise to around 37 degrees Celsius.
June 20: Rain and thundershowers are predicted. The temperature could reach up to 38 degrees Celsius.
June 21: Rain and thunderstorms are again expected with the temperature staying around 37 degrees Celsius.
June 22: Rain or thundershowers are likely. The sky will remain partly cloudy with gusty winds, and the maximum temperature may reach 38 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Northern Limit of the monsoon is currently running through parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar. According to the IMD, conditions are favourable for the southwest monsoon to further advance into more parts of these regions, including East Uttar Pradesh, over the next two to three days.
