Delhi Metro fare to get costlier from today after 8 years - check revised ticket slabs

Travelling by Delhi Metro is set to get expensive as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has officially confirmed a hike in ticket fares starting Monday, August 25. This marks the first revision in eight years, with the last increase having taken place in 2017.

 

Responding to a query on social media platform X, the metro authority said that the hike will be ‘nominal’ and will range between Re 1 and Rs 4 on most metro lines. However, the Airport Express Line will see a slightly bigger rise, with fares going up by as much as Rs 5.

In its official post, DMRC stated: “The passenger fares of the Delhi Metro services have been revised with effect from today, August 25, 2025 (Monday). The revision will be nominal, with fares increasing by Re 1 to Rs 4. The fares on the Airport Line will increase by up to Rs 5.”

According to DMRC, the increase was necessary to maintain smooth operations, ensure regular upkeep of the metro infrastructure, and support future expansion of the rapidly growing metro network, which caters to millions of passengers every day, Mathrubhumi reported.
