Amid growing reports of a humanitarian crisis in the war-torn Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly faced a blunt reprimand from US President Donald Trump during a recent phone call, NBC News has reported.

According to the outlet, the tense exchange followed Netanyahu’s attempt to dismiss accounts of widespread starvation in Gaza as Hamas propaganda.

The coastal enclave remains largely cut off from food supplies due to Israel’s ongoing military campaign, leaving civilians in the grip of severe shortages, malnutrition, and starvation. In recent weeks, reports have emerged of multiple deaths linked to malnutrition.

Speaking in Jerusalem on July 27, Netanyahu publicly rejected allegations that Israel was pursuing such a policy, stating: “There is no policy of starvation in Gaza. And there is no starvation in Gaza.”
