Elon Musk has sparked debate with a cryptic social media post, claiming an arrest is imminent in connection with a major identity theft scandal involving 400,000 stolen social security numbers.

In the post, Musk alleges that the personal information was sold with the aim of committing fraud and stealing money from the U.S. social security system. The tech billionaire suggested that this scheme was particularly prevalent among illegal immigrants and could also be used for voter fraud.

"In fact, I believe someone is going to be arrested tomorrow. This is someone who actually stole 400,000 social security numbers and personal information from the social security database and was selling social security numbers and all of the identification information," Musk wrote, adding that the compromised system could result in fraudulent voter registration and abuse of government benefits.

Musk further criticised handling of social security and other financial programs, accusing Democrats of enabling illegal immigration through financial incentives. “The Democrats basically taken every part of the government that could possibly be bent towards providing financial incentives for illegal immigrants to come to and remain in the United States,” Musk said, also referring to issues like disability, unemployment benefits, and IRS refunds.
