Smoke billows after an Israeli air strike on Yemen's Houthi-held capital Sanaa. The Israeli army said it targeted Houthi military sites in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on August 24, including areas near the presidential palace along with power plants and a fuel storage facility.

Israel on Sunday said it carried out airstrikes on Houthi military positions in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. Targets included locations near the presidential palace, power plants, and a fuel storage facility, according to the Israeli military.

"The strikes were conducted in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the state of Israel and its civilians, including the launching of surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs toward Israeli territory in recent days," the military said in a statement.
