A major fire broke out on Wednesday night at Dilli Haat, one of Delhi’s most beloved open-air craft bazaars in the INA area, gutting at least 30 shops and dealing a severe blow to artisans and traders. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

The incident has shocked frequent visitors and tourists who often flock to Dilli Haat to experience India’s diverse handicrafts, handlooms, regional cuisines, and cultural performances—all under one roof.

According to Delhi Fire Services Chief Atul Garg, the fire was reported at 8:55 PM, prompting the dispatch of 14 fire tenders. The blaze was brought under control after several hours of firefighting. Preliminary estimates suggest that over two dozen shops were destroyed, though police initially put the number at 25.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of thick smoke and leaping flames that swept through the open-air market's vibrant stalls. Traders, many of whom come from across India to showcase regional crafts, reported devastating losses.
