One of the Indian travellers just recently recounted how he was able to get a 5-year multiple-entry visa to Japan within only 2.5 weeks or so - and said ChatGPT helped him with his cover letter. He had applied through VFS in Pune through the Mumbai office and attributes his clear documentation, travelling experience, and background as major contributing factors to his success.

He is a first-time Japan applicant, but he has just visited Europe on a Schengen visa. His intended visit was to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka in 10 days. Being optimistic, he specifically applied for a multiple-entry visa and was granted a 5-year 90-day per visit visa. He explained this by the fact that he demonstrated a steady income, a history of travelling, and a good desire to go back.

He provided a visa form, a detailed itinerary of the names and dates of the hotel to stay, and a cover letter explaining his reason and future travel plans, which he submitted with his application. He also added recent bank statements (three months), income tax returns (three years), an employer-issued NOC, and address evidence through a rental agreement. Interestingly, he explained that he was not required to attach payslips. In the case of the cover letter, he wrote, I had ChatGPT to assist me in writing the cover letter, which would probably be unclear and unprofessional.

He claimed that regular financial status and previous travelling were also important. He had written a pleasant but brief letter of introduction stating that he was going back to India after sightseeing, and it was obvious that he was going back to Japan again in the future. He waited 2.5 weeks after he submitted documents and was subsequently given the sticker visa and his passport. The result: his demand to be written in several times was accepted.
