It's international versus domestic destination for this year's Christmas and New Year holiday travel plan.

Search for overseas accommodation has spiralled 53 percent for the holiday season this year, according to travel platform Agoda. Popular international destinations like Phuket, Dubai, Bangkok, Pattaya, and Bali are topping Agoda's list of favourite getaways for Indian travellers aiming at New Year Eve celebrations.

"Compared to last year, we have observed a significant 7-10 percent increase in enquiries for international destinations throughout the year. This growth is driven by several factors, including the reopening of borders and an increasing number of destinations offering free-visa policies to Indian travellers, making international travel more accessible," said Hari Ganapathy, co-founder of Pickyourtrail.
