The inaugural edition of the Dharoi Adventure Fest kicked off today at the scenic Dharoi Dam in Satlasana taluka of Gujarat’s Mehsana district, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officially inaugurating the event at 9:30 AM. The festival is poised to become a landmark for adventure tourism in the state, bringing adrenaline-pumping action to a relatively untapped location.
Organized jointly by the Gujarat Tourism Department and the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), the week-long event promises an exciting mix of over 10 land, water, and aerial activities. Visitors can indulge in power boating, parasailing, paramotoring, rock climbing, mountain biking, and more. Those looking for immersive experiences can also participate in trekking, hiking, and camping under the stars.
Beyond adventure sports, the festival has been curated to offer a blend of nature and culture. Attendees can enjoy evening cultural performances, stargazing sessions, astronomy camps, photography trails, and guided nature walks.
To accommodate tourists, a full-fledged Tent City has been developed at the site. The temporary lodging setup includes 21 air-conditioned tents in various categories: Rajwadi Suites, Premium Tents, and Deluxe AC Swiss Cottages, all inclusive of meals. For larger groups and budget travellers, premium and AC dormitories with over 100 beds are also available.

Each premium package includes morning breakfast, lunch, evening tea with snacks, and dinner. To ensure safety and comfort, organizers have arranged for health services, certified adventure gear, and fire safety systems on-site.
Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera emphasized that the Dharoi Adventure Fest is part of Gujarat’s broader efforts to diversify its tourism offerings and promote adventure infrastructure development across the state.
This marks the first time the Dharoi Dam, known more for its serene backwaters than tourism, is being positioned as a vibrant adventure destination.
