After a long wait, Samsung recently started the One UI 7 rollout for its smartphones and tablets. However, a new report from Android Authority suggest that Samsung has paused the global rollout of its Android 15-based One UI 7 update, just days after it began reaching Galaxy devices. The update, which started rolling out to the Galaxy S24 series on April 7 and reached the US by April 10, has been abruptly halted due to a “serious bug” reported by early users.

The issue first surfaced in South Korea, where users on Samsung’s forums and tipster Ice Universe flagged that the Galaxy S24 series devices were facing problems with unlocking post-update. In response, Samsung reportedly pulled the firmware from its over-the-air (OTA) servers in multiple countries.

What’s the bug?

According to Ice Universe and other sources, the bug affects the device unlocking process, potentially locking users out of their phones. While the problem initially appeared limited to Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 models, newer reports confirm the update has also been paused for Snapdragon variants globally.
