Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra to be the slimmest and lightest foldable ever, confirms company

Samsung has officially confirmed that its next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra, will feature a slimmer, thinner, and lighter design. The company shared this via an official press note. The next-generation Galaxy foldable are expected to launch at the next Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025. The design overhaul marks a significant step in Samsung’s efforts to make foldables more mainstream and user-friendly.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra will be the company’s most advanced foldable yet, prioritising portability without compromising performance. The new design is said to be meticulously refined to meet user demands for a foldable that feels more like a conventional smartphone when folded, while still offering a large display when opened.

The company highlighted its long-standing mission to blend screen size with portability—two attributes often seen as mutually exclusive. Samsung says the Fold7 Ultra achieves this balance by adopting a redesigned hinge mechanism and thinner display layers, helping reduce overall thickness and weight.

Evolution of the foldable series
The Galaxy Z Fold line was first introduced in 2019 with the original Galaxy Fold, which aimed to combine the productivity of a tablet with the convenience of a phone. Over the years, Samsung has used consumer feedback to fine-tune the design, focusing on improving durability, user interface, and weight distribution.
