If you are planning to buy a new flagship Android smartphone, then the Galaxy S25 Ultra – the latest one and its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra – are among two of the two most popular phones in the market. The Galaxy S25 Ultra launched earlier this year , and the Galaxy S24 Ultra came a year before that.
One UI 7 update based on Android 15 was one of the key takeaways for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and now that the update has arrived for Galaxy S24 Ultra and considering the phone is retailing at around Rs 90,000, which is a whooping Rs 10,000 less than the S25 Ultra? (with the ongoing discount on Amazon).
Does buying the new flagship smartphone make sense, or should you go with the S24 Ultra and save some money/
All of this and more we will discuss in our comparison of S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra with the One UI 7 update
Galaxy S24 Ultra is more affordable now, so it should make more sense? Well, if you only care about getting a flagship smartphone, then the Galaxy S24 Ultra can be a very good buy for you. It is still a flagship phone, comes with a solid camera setup, and even the performance is one of the best out there. With Samsung’s continued commitment to long-term software support, the S24 Ultra has become a good package.
However, there are a few things to consider. For instance, the One UI 7 update on the Galaxy S24 Ultra brings most of the new AI features from S25 Ultra along with the new user interface. But there are a few things that are missing from the update. For instance, the Now Brief is strictly for the S25 Ultra, there are more Writing tools available for S25 Ultra ,and Chat Assist is also missing here.
But, there are other things to keep in mind as well. First, Samsung is offering flat Rs 12,000 cashback on S25 Ultra which brings the price down relatively and if you’ll look on other platforms like Amazon, the phone is available at around Rs 1,05,000 which is an impressive deal and if you’ll pair this with bank discount of cash back, then the price comes down to around Rs 1 lakh that makes the S25 Ultra only Rs 8,0000 more expensive.
For this Rs 8,000 price difference, you are getting a better overall hardware – processor – Snapdragon 8 Elite, bigger and improved thermal management, an improved camera system with a new 50MP telephoto sensor.
But , the difference isn’t limited to the performance and camera, the Galaxy AI features will also work better, considering the new chip has better NPU performance. Plus, the phone gets even better software support.
At last, the resale value of the phone will also be relatively higher than the S24 Ultra.
Galaxy S25 Ultra or Galaxy S24 Ultra: Which one is the right buy
Well, both phones are among the best Android phones you can buy. If you are really tight on the budget and do not want to compromise on reliability or performance or camera, then S24 Ultra is a good buy for you. But, if you can shed a couple of thousand bucks more, the S25 Ultra is by default a better choice to go with.
