Finland-based video game studio Housemarque, known for making sci-fi roguelike PS5 shooter Returnal, recently announced a new release date of “Saros”, its upcoming single-player cinematic action game. Saros' release date has been pushed from March 20, 2026, to April 30, 2026; the game will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Preorders for Saros are now available. The upcoming title from Housemarque also received a gameplay trailer.

In Saros, you step into the shoes of the lead protagonist Arjun Devraj (voiced and acted by English actor Rahul Kohli), who is a “powerful Soltari Enforcer”. The action game is set on a “lost, off-world colony” on the shape-shifting fictional world of Carcosa that’s under an “ominous eclipse”. In Saros, Arjun will have to face a “variety of hostile creatures and uncover their dark secrets,” the developers said in a PS Blog post.

The one key difference between the gameplay of Returnal and Saros is that when you die in Saros, your resources and progression stay as they are, meaning you don’t have to worry about starting from scratch again.

The Saros gameplay trailer showcases a new ability called Parry that allows you to reflect projectiles at the enemies. This move can be lethal to the foes in Saros who launched the projectiles at you, provided you time it right with R1.
