UK-based smartphone brand Nothing has started rolling out the first Open Beta of Nothing OS 3.0 update for the Phone (2a) Plus and the Phone (1) users globally. With this software update, users will get to experience the latest Android 15-based Nothing’s third iteration of its operating system, along with multiple new features and customisations.
Nothing OS 3.0 open beta update: Key features and upgrades
One of the main highlights of the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 update is its enhanced home and lock screen customisation support. We get the Smart Drawer AI feature, which as per the changelog, can automatically categorise apps based on usage patterns, while also allowing users to pin their most-used apps at the top of the app drawer.
The update also comes with camera improvements, which include reduced HDR processing time, quicker launch speed with the camera widget, better low-light performance, and improved zoom slider toggle. There are new clock faces, fonts, and design layouts to give users more options to personalise their devices.
Nothing smartphone users also get the option to resize pop-up views more easily, and they can be pinned to the edge of the screen for convenience. The update also introduces an auto-archive feature, which helps free up storage space without deleting apps. Other key features of the Nothing OS 3.0 update include new fingerprint and charging animations, revamped quick settings, expanded widget space, and an updated setup wizard.
