Apple has dropped a major update to Logic Pro for both Mac and iPad, bringing a suite of new tools aimed squarely at producers, beatmakers, and session musicians. Chief among them: an upgraded Stem Splitter that now separates not just vocals, bass, and drums—but guitar and piano too—with greater audio fidelity.

The Stem Splitter update means producers can now isolate specific elements of a track with near surgical precision, whether remixing a demo or creating a clean instrumental. Presets allow quick selection of common variations like acapella or instrumental, while a new submix feature lets users export exactly the stems they want.

Also debuting is Flashback Capture, a kind of musical time machine that recovers unrecorded MIDI or audio performances with a tap. Ideal for capturing spontaneous moments, it even organises takes into folders when using Cycle mode.

iPad users now get Learn MIDI, a hands-on interface that allows custom mapping of knobs, faders, and buttons on MIDI hardware—making the iPad a more serious player in pro workflows.
