Karnataka govt, Meta kickstart online safety programmes in colleges

More than 1 lakh teachers and 10 lakh students to be trained in digital safety, AR, and VR skills

The Karnataka government signed a Letter of Intent in November 2023 and entered into a two-year partnership with Meta for digital education and online user safety of the students.

Karnataka government and Meta on July 4 launched online safety programmes in colleges across the state.

Meta operates various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.

Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge launched the Digital Nagrik and AR-VR Skills programme with departments including school education, higher education, and technical education in Bengaluru.
