Apple has finally introduced the highly anticipated Hypertension notification feature to the Apple Watch in India. The feature is designed to notify users of signs of chronic high blood pressure and notify them of potential hypertension. If you are wondering how to enable the Hypertension feature in your Apple Watch, here's our detailed guide.
What is Hypertension and how Apple Watch tracks it
If you are unaware, Hypertension is a long-term condition that can harm your heart, blood vessels, and other organs. Your Apple Watch uses the optical heart sensor to analyse collected data and can alert you if it notices a pattern suggesting hypertension. These checks happen over 30-day evaluation periods, starting from the day you enable hypertension notifications. An iPhone and Apple Watch showing a notification of possible hypertension.

What to do when you receive a notification
If you get a notification, it means the Hypertension Notifications feature on your Apple Watch has patterns linked to hypertension in your heart data from the past 30 days. Be sure to talk about the notification and your blood pressure readings with your healthcare provider at your next visit. You’ll also be asked to set up a Blood Pressure Log and use a third-party blood pressure cuff to measure and track your blood pressure a week.
