Google may finally launch the Pixel 9a in India. While there is no official confirmation from Google, leaks and rumors suggest a March 19 launch.The Pixel 9a is the most affordable phone in the Pixel 9 lineup. According to leaks, the phone will feature a redesigned camera module. However, to see the final design, we will have to wait for Google's official announcement.
Pixel 9a design and display
Google isn’t expected to shake things up too much with the Pixel 9a’s design. The phone will likely follow the classic Pixel A-series look with a compact body and a dual-camera setup on the back. If the leaks are to be believed, the Pixel 9a will come with a 6.3-inch display—slightly bigger than its predecessor.
And if you love color options, Google is reportedly launching the Pixel 9a in four shades such as the Iris (Blue), Obsidian (Black), Peony (Pink), and Porcelain (White).
When it comes to performance, the Pixel 9a is rumored to be powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chip. This is the same processor expected in Google’s premium Pixel 9 series. The phone is also likely to have Google’s Titan M2 security chip for extra protection.
As for the software, the Pixel 9a is expected to launch with Android 15 right out of the box. That means the you will get to experience the latest features and updates without having to wait.
Now, let’s talk about cameras. Google’s Pixel phones are famous for their camera quality, and the 9a is no exception. It’s expected to have a 48MP main camera along with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. Selfie lovers? You might get a 13MP front camera—perfect for those crisp selfies and video calls.

If the rumors are true, the Pixel 9a is expected to start at $499 (around Rs 42,000) for the 128GB variant. But in India, the price could go up to Rs 50,000 due to taxes and other costs.
As for the launch, leaks suggest Google might announce the Pixel 9a on March 19, 2025, with sales beginning on March 26, 2025.
