Months after making it available on Android phones, Google has finally rolled out the Gemini AI app for iPhones. “Now, you’ll be able to have easy access to Google’s personal AI assistant, right on your iPhone, free of charge,” said Google in a blog post. Notably, this comes days after Apple rolled out ChatGPT integration for iPhones with iOS 18.2 beta. It is expected that Apple will roll out ChatGPT integration into Siri in the second week of December.
Google has said that the app is now available for download. However, when Moneycontrol checked on the App Store, the app wasn’t available. It may be a gradual roll out, so it could take some time for all users to see the Gemini AI app on App Store.
What can iPhone users do with Gemini AI app?
“Gemini can help use write the perfect email or text, create stunning images, and brainstorm fun new ideas,” said Google. According to Google, iPhone users can now talk to Gemini in a conversational manner, including interrupting to ask questions or change the topic. Furthermore, they can personalise Gemini’s voice by choosing from 10 distinct voices. Google said that Gemini Live is currently available in 10 languages on iPhone.
Users can also access Imagen 3, Google’s image generation model, which can quickly transform text descriptions into AI images.
Google says that Gemini makes learning easier for students. For instance, they can to ask questions about any subject and get tailored study plans. “Gemini can also provide custom, step-by-step guidance that adapts to your learning style, and you can even test your knowledge with quizzes,” said Google.
Gemini also connects with most of Google’s apps and services. “With Extensions, Gemini can find and show you relevant information from the Google apps you use every day like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Calendar and more — all within a single conversation,” said Google.
