Files by Google: Total downloads and other details
Files by Google, which was earlier known as Files: Go, only crossed the one million mark about four years ago in March 2021. However, according to 9to5Google, the app has now achieved the impressive 5 billion download milestone on the Google Play Store earlier this week.
Moreover, Files by Google has added multiple AI-powered features in the last few months, which sets it apart from many other competitors. Another major bonus is that this app is free to download, with no in-app purchases required to remove ads or access the full features. Further, Google has added new Gemini functionalities in the app, including the ability to ask about files such as PDFs or use Circle to Search to know more about the on-screen content.
Currently, the Files by Google is available to all Android devices running Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher version and it is now also preinstalled on most new smartphones and tablets as well.
