With over 5 lakh concurrent players on Steam for Battlefield 6 Beta at one point, it is clear that fans have got their hopes high for the next game in the war simulation franchise. And the good news is that it may get a Battle Royale mode too, as EA has started testing it.
The Battlefield 6 Battle Royale test is going to be a harsh lesson for those players who don’t respect the urgency and alertness it demands. How harsh, you may ask. In most of the Battle Royale modes witnessed in different games, including PUBG and Call of Duty, the safe zone started to shrink at one point, and you had to make a run to stay inside it. If you were caught outside the zone, your health started decreasing at a fast rate, and your speed slowed down, but you still had some chance of making it out alive. What the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale will do is remove that chance. If the shrinking circle just so much as touches you, you’re dead. It’s like that invisible ring of death that fries you instantly upon touch.
Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Tests: Other key features
- A total of 100 players can join the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale (BR) match. They will be split into 25 teams of four, in the traditional Battle Royale way. Fight to be the last one standing. Players can use pings, text or VOIP to communicate with their squad mates.
- With Battlefield’s class system active in BR mode, once you choose your class, it can’t be changed at any point in the game.
- Also, each Battlefield 6 class starts with two gadgets. Throughout the match, players can earn XP by eliminating players or completing missions.
- The developers have designed one map specifically for Battle Royale tests. As per the devs, it “features a diverse array of tactical Points of Interest, each with distinct layouts and themes.”
- You will spot “common transport vehicles around the map and even unlock powerful armored vehicles to turn the tide of battle”, said EA in a blog post.
EA has got Battlefield Labs testing the Battle Royale mode currently, and more official details on it are fairly light. We’ll keep you posted as they emerge.
