Claude AI appears to be facing another outage, with users reporting issues for the second time this week. Data from outage tracking platform Downdetector shows a sharp rise in complaints over the past few hours, indicating a widespread disruption impacting access and performance.
According to the data, a majority of users are facing issues with Claude Chat, which accounts for 54 percent of the reported problems. Meanwhile, 16 percent of users reported issues with the app, and another 16 percent flagged problems related to Claude Code.
The complaints primarily revolve around:
• Login failures
• High latency and lag
• Website access issues
This suggests that the outage is affecting multiple parts of the service, including both the web interface and app-based access.
Downdetector data shows spike
The outage chart indicates a sudden spike in reports, with complaints reaching over 130 reports at peak. The graph shows relatively low activity earlier in the day, followed by a steep surge, which typically signals a service disruption rather than isolated user-side issues.
Such spikes are often seen when backend services or infrastructure components face instability, leading to widespread user impact.
No official response yet
At the time of writing, there has been no official statement from Anthropic regarding the outage. The lack of communication leaves users uncertain about the cause of the disruption or the expected time for resolution.
This marks the second reported outage involving Claude AI within a week, raising concerns about service stability as usage continues to grow
