Google has rolled out Chrome 139 for Android, introducing notable improvements to Tab Groups along with several other small but useful changes.

The browser’s three-dot menu now includes a clearly visible “Add tab to group” option at the very top, alongside New tab and New Incognito tab. Tapping it opens a bottom sheet displaying all existing groups, along with an option to create a new one. The Tab Grid switcher has also gained a “New tab group” button for quick access.

This update is now widely available, and many users will see a “You can now easily add tabs to groups here” prompt when first accessing the feature. If it hasn’t appeared yet, force stopping Chrome from the App info menu may trigger it.

Chrome 139 also addresses a bug that affected the address bar’s “Copy link” option, which can be accessed by long-pressing the Omnibox. While the shortcut previously displayed a “Copied” notification on Pixel devices without actually saving the URL to the clipboard, the latest update ensures it functions correctly.
