Bengaluru: Rain brings relief to parched citizens, but city sees waterlogged roads and traffic snarls

While many residents welcomed the rain for the second consecutive day after a dry spell of more than 160 days, it also exposed Bengaluru's civic agency's poor monsoon preparedness.

Bengaluru received rain for the second consecutive day, providing relief to its residents who have been deprived of proper water supply but also resulted in waterlogged roads and traffic congestion.

While many residents welcomed rain after nearly six months, it also exposed civic body Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's poor monsoon preparedness.

 

Many areas including Central Business District received rain on Friday afternoon. According to Bengaluru traffic police, slow-moving traffic was reported in areas like Ramamurthy Nagar underpass, Binny Mill Circle, Okalipuram, RR Nagar arch, Kasturinagar, Nagawara near Manyata Tech Park, Chakravarthy Layout, JC Nagar, Jayadeva flyover, and Lowry Junction due to waterlogging.
