Apple may have accidentally confirmed the launch date for its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. The company briefly posted an event invite on the Apple TV app, hinting at a September 9 unveiling for the new iPhones before quickly removing it. The accidental leak comes as anticipation builds for Apple’s next-generation smartphones, which are expected to include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The invite, spotted by Apple Leaker before being taken down, carried a banner featuring the Apple logo with purple rays in the background. Some observers noted that the design resembled the original MacBook Air wallpaper, potentially signaling the introduction of the iPhone 17 Air. This would mark the first time Apple adds an “Air” model to its iPhone lineup, positioned as a sleeker alternative to the regular variant.

Apple typically announces its iPhone launch event in late August, so the early appearance of the invite may explain why it was quickly withdrawn. Whether it was a genuine mistake or a calculated teaser remains unclear, but the September 9 date now appears highly likely.
