One Tennis legend to another, Roger Federer has penned an emotional note for Rafael Nadal as the Spaniard prepares to bid adieu to the sport. Federer and Nadal have been rivals on the court but good friends off it. Nadal has announced he is not going to play after the Davis Cup finals.

Just two days after turning 19, Nadal won his first major title in 2005 at his maiden French Open. 17 years later, he won his last title, a 14th Roland Garros. Nadal won 92 titles with two Olympic golds playing in an era where Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic were also present.

Federer expressed his heartfelt emotions in a note dedicated to Nadal, reflecting on their battles throughout the different stages of their careers.

Federer ended the letter for Nadal with a touch of class: "I want you to know that your old friend is always cheering for you, and will be cheering just as loud for everything you do next. Rafa that! Best always, your fan."
