The 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev has traveled to India for the World Tennis League (WTL) exhibition tennis competition, which will take place in Bengaluru from December 17–20.
Since the competition started in 2022, it has never been held outside of the United Arab Emirates. The SM Krishna Tennis Stadium in Bengaluru will host the match. A number of elite foreign athletes will compete alongside Medvedev, including former women's world No. 2 Paula Badosa, French star Gael Monfils, Nick Kyrgios, and Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion.
The Indian players competing in the competition are Rohan Bopanna, who recently retired from elite tennis, Sumit Nagal, Yuki Bhambri, Ankita Raina, Shrivalli Bhamidipati, and Maaya Revathi.
Medvedev took to X with him when he first arrived in India, and while he was in Bengaluru, he asked supporters for tips.
“Hello India! Nice to be back here. Any tips during my stay here?” Medvedev posted on X:

There will be one men's singles match, one women's singles match, and two doubles matches in the four-set format of the WTL 2025. The captain who wins the toss will determine the doubles pairings prior to the start of the match. Each game won in each of the four sets will count toward the final score, and the winning team will be the one with the most games played overall.
The match will go into overtime if the team that wins the fourth set is already ahead on the total number of games. To end the tie in overtime, the team leading overall only needs to win one game. A first-to-10 Super Shoot-Out tiebreak will be used if the final score is tied.
