These were the key moments from the RCB vs KKR IPL match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru:
- There was lot of miscommunication between Cameron Green and Virat Kohli while running between the wickets, which almost cost each batter their wicket. However, things smoothened down between the two before Green was dismissed.
- KKR were sloppy on the field, dropping Glenn Maxwell twice and another dropped catch.
- KKR's Andre Russell showed why he is one of the greatest T20 cricketers of all time with a bowling masterclass. He exploited the two-paced nature of the Chinnaswamy pitch and bowled many off cutters, that starved the RCB batmen of the pace they craved. When needed, he upped his pace to almost 150 kmph, created doubts in the mind of the batsmen. He finished with figures of 2/29 from his 4 overs. A brilliant spell indeed.
- Virat Kohli dominates 1 v 1 battle against Mitchell Starc. Much was highlighted ahead of the game regarding the battle between the two but 'King' Kohli came out top trumps against the fiery Aussie fast bowler. In the 17 balls he faced off Starc, Kohli smashed 33 runs with three fours and two lovely sixes.
- Speaking of Starc, KKR will be concerned for their big money signing as he was poor once again with the ball. Starc has been leaking runs as he has conceded 100 runs in 8 overs across the first two matches. He gave 53 in the first game against SRH before conceding 47 tonight against RCB
- KKR won the game within the first 6 overs of the second innings as openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine made hay during the powerplay. The duo smashed 85 runs for no loss in the first 6 overs, punishing spin and pace with equal measure. That set the tone for KKR as RCB never recovered from the opening onslaught.
- Venkatesh Iyer took off from where Salt and Narine left off as the lanky left handed batter hit a quickfire 50 of just 30 balls before getting out. After the openers got out quickly, Venkatesh along with skipper Shreyas Iyer ensured there was no collapse, with the latter playing the perfect anchor role.
- Saving the best for last, the biggest moment of the match came during the first innings break. Kohli, who remained unbeaten on 83, hugged 'arch rival' Gautam Gambhir, KKR's team mentor, while walking back to the dressing room on the completion of the first innings. Much was said of the heated animosity between the pair but all was forgotten when the duo embraced during the innings break.
