Kapil Dev
The Indian Territorial Army awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel to the former world champion and renowned all-rounder Kapil Dev, who guided the team to a historic victory in Cricket World Cup in 1983. Kapil Dev received the rank in 2008. In addition to being a model of discipline, unshakable patriotism, and leadership, he was awarded the coveted distinction for his tremendous contribution to Indian cricket.

By taking part in a number of military-related events and motivating the country's youth, Kapil Dev has repeatedly demonstrated his profound regard and enthusiasm for the Indian Army. Additionally, the sporting legend has previously demonstrated a deep commitment to Indian warriors, honoring those who gave their lives in defense of their homeland.
Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar represented Team India for almost 20 years. In cricket, he accomplished a number of records that still exist today. One of the most complete batsmen, the 41-year-old was a terror for the opposing bowling unit when he was playing. He has been likened to cricket great Sir Donald Bradman on many occasions.

He also has records in both wicketkeeping and batting and also had a close relationship with government employment in his life.
He was a ticket collector at Kharagpur Railway Station prior to his international debut. But he quit his government job to devote himself to cricket. He was soon selected for Team India by the national selectors, and the rest is history.
On the strength of his valiant knock against Sri Lanka in the final at Wankhede Stadium, Team India won the 50-over World Cup in 2011 after 28 arduous years. The Indian territorial army then bestowed upon him the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel that same year.
