Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has agreed that India can collect the Asia Cup 2025 trophy, which was taken away from the Dubai International Stadium on September 28 after Suryakumar Yadav’s side defeated Pakistan in the final. Sources confirmed to CNN-News18 on Wednesday (October 1) that Naqvi has given the trophy to the UAE cricket board and it is at the ACC office.

Sources indicated that the silverware will either be officially transported to India or delivered to an Indian representative in Dubai, who will then carry it back. They also mentioned that Naqvi was in Dubai until Tuesday, where the ACC’s regional office is located.
Earlier in the day, India Today reported that Naqvi had maintained that the trophy will remain with the PCB.. The report added that while Naqvi has not issued an official apology, he has remained firm on his stance regarding the medals and trophy.
The development follows reports from sources to News18 that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is seeking the removal of Mohsin Naqvi from his position as President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
It also comes after Indian officials decided to file a complaint with UAE authorities regarding the alleged trophy theft. Senior government sources previously informed News18 that they planned to submit the report and urge UAE authorities to initiate a formal investigation into Naqvi’s actions. According to them, his conduct not only disrespected the victorious team but also created a troubling example of politically motivated bias against member countries.
