Young batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 67 off just 36 balls helping India secure a spot in the U-19 Asia Cup final. Chasing 174 against Sri Lanka, Suryavanshi played a sensational knock in the semifinal for which he got awarded the player of the match as well. India registered a comfortable victory against Sri Lanka winning the contest by 7 wickets.

During his stay at the crease, Vaibhav smashed five maximums and six fours to hit his second consecutive fifty in the tournament. He also became the youngest player from India win a play of the match for the Under 19 team.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the plan did not go well as they were bowled out for 173 in 46.3 overs. Lakvin Abeysinghe (69 off 110) and Sharujan Shanmuganathan (42 off 78) played some crucial knocks but India bowlers were on top of their game. Chetan Sharma (3/34), Kiran Chormale (2/32), and Ayush Mhatre (2/37) wreak havoc in the middle overs.

In reply, India started off with a solid partnership of 91 between Ayush Mhatre 34 (28) and Suryavnashi. The young left-hander from Bihar made an explosive start against the Sri Lankan bowlers, launching consecutive sixes and a boundary off Sigera, who conceded 31 runs in his opening over.

Meanwhile, Mhatre played confidently at the other end, as the duo surged to 87 without loss in just eight overs. However, Sri Lanka found a breakthrough when Vihas Thewmika dismissed Mhatre.
