Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Yashasvi Jaiswal engaged in a fierce battle during the Rajasthan Royals' pursuit of 206 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday. The RR opener was furious when the Aussie had the last laugh after dismissing him and gave him a send-off. The umpire had to step in because of the situation.

The duel started in the fourth over of the second inning. With 23 runs off the first eight balls he faced, including a first-ball six against Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaiswal had gotten off to a scorching start in the chase. The first three balls went for no runs as Hazlewood used shorter leg-stump line deliveries to attack him. When the fast bowler shifted his line, Jaiswal hammered the next three balls for boundaries.

In the last over of the powerplay, Jaiswal maintained the edge over the seasoned bowler by hitting two boundaries and a six in the first four deliveries. Hazelwood then adjusted his angle, delivered a slower ball, and hit it into his body. The left-hander tried a pull shot, but due to lack of room, he miscued it off his splice, causing the ball to inflate to midwicket for a simple catch. Jaiswal fell short of his half-century by just one run.

Hazlewood replied right away with a farewell, indicating that Jaiswal should head back to the bench. The batter threw out a mouthful before leaving, clearly not pleased by the deed. Because of the event, the umpire had to step in and issue a warning to Rajat Patidar, the captain of the RCB.
