In a startling moment during Day 1 of the second and final Test between India and West Indies, fast bowler Jayden Seales accidentally struck Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with a throw. The incident occurred during India’s first innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, October 10.
In the second Test, Team India decided to bat first after winning the toss. In the first Test in Ahmedabad, the hosts, captained by Shubman Gill, had already won by an innings and 140 runs. In Test cricket, India has not lost to the West Indies since 2002.

Before lunch, India amassed 94 runs in 28 overs at a cost of one wicket. The only wicket to fall was KL Rahul, who struck 38 from 54 balls. While the West Indies needed to regroup for a more potent attack, Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal established a firm platform by displaying patience and poise against the new ball.
Jayden Seales hit Yashasvi Jaiswal with a throw on the fifth ball of the 29th over. Seales picked up the ball as Jaiswal drove a delivery straight down the ground, but he tossed it back in fury on his followed-through. As soon as the ball struck Jaiswal's front pad, Seales expressed regret for the occurrence.
To reach his half-century, Jaiswal hit Jayden Seales for three consecutive off-side boundaries. Seales tried to adapt by bowling dot balls and around the wicket, but Jaiswal completed his fifty by driving through covers to punish a full-length delivery.
KL Rahul and Jaiswal got off to a cautious start in the opening session, displaying poise and patience when facing the new ball. When captain Shubman Gill decided to bat first, they helped India settle in with a 58-run partnership for the first wicket.
Jaiswal finished the first session undefeated at 40 off 78 balls, with Sai Sudharsan at the other end. He laid the groundwork for a solid first-innings total by combining aggression and patience to ensure India managed the early overs securely.
