How Chennai Super Kings performed in IPL 2024

The season emphasized CSK's tenacity and the rise of Gaikwad as the new captain. However, their inconsistent performances kept them from earning a playoffs spot.

After a late Jadeja-Dhoni scare, RCB defeated CSK to take the fourth playoff berth by finishing on the right side of yet another drama at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After RCB reached 218 thanks to a superb batting display, bowlers did just enough to keep CSK below 200 and earn fourth place with a slightly higher NRR than their rivals.

CSK made a strong start to the season but inconsistent form in the latter half of the 2024 edition affected their performance.

Ruturaj Gaikwad made an impressive leadership debut and MS Dhoni made fine cameo performances in the latter part of the CSK innings but limited batting due to fitness concerns also had an adverse effect.
