3. Nepal Snow Leopard Populations Stable
Nepal estimates 397 snow leopards, showing a stable population. Previous surveys relied on tracks, scat and habitat modelling data. Findings guide future conservation strategies and support long-term protections.
4. Poaching Reduction Technology in Kenya
Thermal FLIR cameras detect intrusions, helping stop rhino poaching effectively. Ol Pejeta and Solio reserves achieved zero poaching since deployment. Artificial intelligence alerts rangers instantly, improving response times drastically.
5. Sumatra’s Thirty Hills Conservation Success
WWF secured 100,000 acres of lowland forest for restoration. Sumatran elephants, tigers and orangutans now thrive in protected forests. Local communities manage forests sustainably, combining biodiversity with livelihoods.
6. Gorilla Habituation in Dzanga-Sangha
A new western lowland gorilla group was successfully habituated recently. Silverback Limo leads the group, visible to visiting tourists safely. Experienced staff ensured smooth habituation after losses of previous silverbacks.
