A series of near-Earth asteroids are passing by our planet on 5 October. According to NASA’s tracking, these four asteroids routinely pass close to Earth as part of their natural orbits around the Sun. Scientists are closely monitoring these asteroids as they speed through our cosmic neighbourhood.

1. Asteroid 2025 TO
Asteroid 2025 TO is bus-sized, measuring about 27 feet in diameter. It will pass by Earth at a distance of approximately 785,000 miles. This is more than three times the distance from Earth to the Moon, so there is no danger of impact. It will pass on 5th October.
2. Asteroid 2025 SN21
About the size of a small house (52 feet wide), asteroid 2025 SN21 will come as close as 1,770,000 miles from Earth. Like the others on this list, it will safely miss our planet.
3. Asteroid 2025 SO27
Measuring around 37 feet (bus-sized), 2025 SO27 will fly by at a distance of 2,450,000 miles. While these distances are considered nearby astronomical standards, there is no risk associated with this encounter.
4. Asteroid 2025 SY10
The largest of the group, 2025 SY10 is about 65 feet across (house-sized). Its projected approach is 3,730,000 miles from Earth. While asteroid impacts of this size could cause regional disruptions if a collision occurred, this object poses no threat and will pass by uneventfully.

Most of these asteroids belong to groups like the Aten, Apollo, or Amor families. They have paths that cross or come near Earth's orbit.
