Who is Goddess Varalakshmi?

Goddess Varalakshmi is a powerful and benevolent form of Mahalakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. The name "Varalakshmi" translates to "Lakshmi who grants boons" (Vara means boon). She is believed to have emerged from the Kshir Sagar (milky ocean), with a radiant, pearl-like complexion, symbolising divine purity and abundance. Devotees believe that worshipping Varalakshmi on this day is highly rewarding, as she blesses her followers with wealth, health, family happiness, and the fulfillment of desires.
