Though it may not rank high up in the innovative jailbreaks you would have heard of, nonetheless, it is as effective as it gets. Two alleged FARC (a Marxist militant group in Colombia) guerrillas escaped the maximum security wing of the largest prison in Bogota, Colombia after getting a prison guard drunk.

The incident came to notice last week on Saturday when a prison guard found his colleague in an inebriated state. Notably, he let the prisoners go out to buy more liquor.

“The officer had been drinking with the prisoners, he was drunk. He couldn’t even stand up and supposedly let the prisoners through the main gate to buy booze,” according to the testimony of one guard that was leaked to W Radio and reported by Colombia Reports.

As per the reports sent to the director of the prison, the guard refused to take the breathalyser test and allegedly failed to notify his superiors about the escaped prisoners.
