After a recent interview with Elon Musk on X, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to address concerns about his speech, which many listeners noted sounded strange. Trump acknowledged the unusual sound but attributed it not to any medical condition but to the "complexity of modern-day equipment, and cellphone technology."
“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special - and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement! Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern-day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange. Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation. ENJOY!!!” Trump posted.
This response follows criticism from Democrats who have called for a full medical examination of Trump, especially as his GOP campaign frequently highlights President Joe Biden’s health. Despite Trump's campaign denying any issues, claiming the slurring was merely due to audio compression, some social media users remained skeptical. They noted that Trump’s lisping persisted even in the new audio, contrasting it with Musk's clear voice.
One user observed, “Twitter staff working frantically to deboost discussion of Trump slurring and lisping from the trending tab,” while a MAGA supporter defended Trump, stating, “No slur, no fkn denture issues like a lot of those idiots in the comments said. Audio compression problems. Trump does not slur like Biden.”
On a lighter note, the Harris campaign quipped about the situation, commenting on Trump’s lisp, “Trump, slurring, says he's okay with climate change and rising sea levels because he thinks he'll 'have more oceanfront property'.”
