China's wind power capacity to hit 120 gigawatts by 2015

By the end of 2020, China aims to increase non-fossil energy to 15 percent of total primary energy consumption, and sharply enhance the ratio of renewable energy in production.

China's wind power capacity is to hit 120 gigawatts by the end of 2015, according to the National Energy Administration. Wind power capacity reached 105 gigawatts by the end of June this year, said Zhu Ming, Deputy director of the NEA's New and Renewable Energy Department, yesterday. He stressed wind power generation has become an important part of the country's electricity supply, and needs more subsidies, better technology and management.

By the end of 2020, China aims to increase non-fossil energy to 15 percent of total primary energy consumption, and sharply enhance the ratio of renewable energy in production.
