Setback for Macron: Far-Right Party Wins 1st Phase of Snap Polls in France | Le Pen Calls it “Historic”

Marine Le Pen's far-right party won the first round of France's parliamentary elections, exit polls showed, but the final result will depend on days of horse-trading before next week's run-off. According to the initial estimates by Ipsosl, Le Pen’s RN bloc is leading with 34% of the vote, while the left-wing New Popular Front (NFP) coalition has 28.1%. The next phase of voting will take place next week.
