Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath: 'Most Americans I know with money want to invest in India'

Nithin Kamath on Tuesday shared that while American investors are interested in India, young Indians prefer to move to the US to build America's future.

Commenting on what he termed a "dichotomy", the Zerodha CEO wrote on X, "Most Americans I know with money want to invest in India because they believe they are plateauing as a nation and that we are the future. But somehow, young Indians are still bitten by the bug to travel to America to build their future."

He also shared a report which stated that India is a leading "sender of students" to the US.

According to the Open Doors Report (ODR), India surpassed China to become the largest source of international graduate students in the US for the first time since 2009-10. The report was published by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in partnership with the U.S. government’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

This is the third year in a row that a record number of Indian students travelled to the US to pursue higher education, it stated adding that in the academic year 2022-23, an all-time high of 268,923 Indian students went to the US.
