The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be inaugurated on January 22 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. Ahead of the grand event, pre-consecration rituals have already begun in the holy city of Ayodhya. Dr Anil Mishra and his wife Usha Mishra are presiding over the pre-consecration rituals which began on Tuesday, January 16.
Dr Anil Mishra has been chosen as “pradhan yajman” of the Ram Mandir pre-consecration rituals, according to chief priest Dr Laxmikant Dixit. In Sanskrit, the word “yajman” refers to the patron on whose behalf a religious ritual is performed.
Dr Dixit has said that PM Narendra Modi will be the pradhan yajman on the day of the consecration, which is January 22. Dixit refuted reports that Ram temple trust member Anil Mishra, who is performing rituals with his wife in the run-up to the main event, will be the yajman also on the consecration day.
