Student tells Bengaluru airport security he’s a terrorist to avoid going home

An engineering student created a panic at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport after calling himself a terrorist.

A student sparked panic at Bengaluru airport on February 17

According to a Times of India report, the student wanted to avoid going back home and managed to disembark from a Lucknow-bound flight minutes before take-off.

When CISF personnel asked Adarsh Kumar Singh why he disembarked the aircraft, he said he was a terrorist. Singh was reportedly afraid of being reprimanded by his parents for not doing well academically and therefore devised a plan to stop the flight.

His stunt created a huge panic among staff and passengers on the night of February 17. Singh was arrested at the spot and released on bail Tuesday.

A student at a private university in Bengaluru, Singh had booked tickets to go back home to Lucknow but apparently changed his mind upon boarding his AirAsia flight. When cabin crew informed CISF that Singh had disembarked the aircraft, they intercepted him at the arrival corridor and asked him why.
